A global Internet Service Provider (ISP) targeted toward the business professional that provides a complete online solution including Internet access, message boards, file archives, topic-centric communities, news, e-mail, databases, etc.

Project
To enhance and stabilize the e-mail and pager services portion of a new internet based online service. This included an online POP3 mail signup and maintenance area along with pager capabilities. POP3 mail signup walked the user through the setup of their POP3 mail client and could provide automatic configuration for a number of popular mail programs. The online pager services provided the customer with a way to signup a pager to receive e-mail, sports scores and other pages based on the customers settings.

Solution
C-Sharp worked in conjunction with the existing backend developers to implement, enhance and stabilize the existing front end code written in ASP along with improving the user interface. Backend ActiveX objects provided an interface into the existing databases and were controlled by the ASP to perform all e-mail and pager updates. ASP functions were written to implement membership and country validation, form validation and generic access to the ActiveX objects. The ActiveX objects were optionally cached using session variables for optimal performance.
